Workshop Details

Ages: 8 to Adult (Ages 6–7 welcome with simplified projects).

Group Size: 4 to 12 guests.

What’s Included: All clay, tools, and professional firing/glazing.

What You’ll Make: 1–2 unique ceramic pieces per person.

Location: At your Bay Area home/office or my Sunnyvale studio.

Customization: We can tailor colors or themes to fit your event.

After Workshop: Pieces are professionally fired and ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks.

FAQ

Any previous experience required?

None at all. We’ve designed this workshop to be beginner-friendly, focusing on the meditative & tactile joy of the Nerikomi process.

What can we make?

We offer a range of projects tailored to your group’s age and interests. From our signature Nerikomi Marbled Mugs, bowls, and plates to illustrative plates using colored clay. If you have a specific vision for a party or team-building event, we’re happy to discuss custom designs to fit your unique theme!

Is it messy?

Not much at all! We provide all materials and step-by-step guidance to keep everything neat and manageable. Clay is easy to clean and non-staining. You should simply wear clothes they don’t mind getting a little dusty.

When will my pieces be ready?

After the workshop, we’ll carefully dry, fire, and glaze your pieces in the kiln. Because ceramics is a slow and delicate process, your finished creations will be ready in 4–6 weeks. We will contact you via email or text as soon as they are ready for pickup!

Is the pottery food-safe?

Yes! All finished pieces are glazed and fired using food-safe materials. They are also microwave and dishwasher safe.

Please note that because of the high temperatures required for firing, small cracks can occasionally develop (which is beyond our control). If this happens, the piece can still be enjoyed for decorative purposes. We handle every piece with the utmost care to minimize any issues and ensure your creation comes out beautifully!
